CHS volleyball beats Highland

The Chesterton volleyball team picked up its third win of the season with a 25-17, 25-11, 25-14 victory over Highland on Wednesday.

Offensively, Kristin Stillman led the Trojans with 10 kills, while Maggie Vrahoretis, Ariel Rohe and Ginger Hedrick tallied five kills each. Kylie Vendramin, Paige Seely and Taylor Bowser all contributed four kills.

Olivia Smilgius dished out a team-best 14 assists with Vrahoretis and Ella Whitmore each handing out six helpers.

Defensively, Lorann Lombardini led the way with seven digs and Stillman added five digs. Smilgius, Whitmore and Bowser each had three digs in the win.

At the net, Vrahoretis had two blocks with Caroline Parks, Rohe, Seely and Hedrick all adding one block.

On the service line, Smilgius and Vendramin had three aces each. Lombardini and Stillman added two aces.

The Trojans return to the court tonight when they head to Michigan City to take on the Wolves. The JV match is scheduled for 5 p.m.
