CHS VB 2nd at North Montgomery Invite

The Chesterton volleyball team finished second in the North Montgomery Invitational on Saturday.

The Trojans picked up pool play victories over Lafayette Jeff (25-14, 25-17), Fishers (25-22, 17-25, 15-13) and Lebanon (25-11, 24-26, 15-5), before falling to Class 3A No. 4 North View (25-17, 22-25, 15-8).

Offensively, Sammi Ostrom led the team with 22 kills, while Emily Marcus tallied 12 kills. Sara Tarnowski, Aubrey Nagdeman, Jessica Urycki and Ali Ostrom all had 10 kills on the day.

Kennedy Baltus dished out a team-best 37 assists as Shelby Snyder recorded 33 helpers.

Defensively, Jordyn Moleski had 51 digs with Marcus adding 36. Tarnowski added 26 digs.

On the service line, Ashley Hecimovich and Nagdeman each had five aces with Marcus recording four and Tarnowski tallying three.

At the net, Sammi Ostrom had 10 block kills with Marcus, Urycki, Brittany Milzarek and Ali Ostrom each getting two block kills.
