CHS Softball announces year end awards

The Chesterton softball team has announced its season-ending awards for the 2008-2009 year.

Kelci Garcia was named the team’s Most Valuable Player, while Ryan Bozak earned the Most Improved Award. Sam Gross and Justine Vogie were named Mental Attitude Award winners.

The Sportsmanship Award went to Tiffany Fine, while Sammie Howard got the Defensive Hustle Award and Garcia was named the team’s Most Productive Hitter.

Varsity Award honorees were (seniors) Tiffany Fine, Kelci Garcia, Kari Ricard, Justine Vogie, (juniors) Tarra Fine, Sam Gross, Kathleen Maple, Jessica Peterson, Vanessa Salamanca, (sophomores) Krista Bottos, Ryan Bozak, Taylor Harlow, Heather Overla, (freshmen) Sammie Howard, Jaren Lynch and Jeannette Sosnowski.

Junior Varsity Awards went to Ashlee Barkeloo (9), Kayla Bobos (11), Stephanie Buehler (10), Sarah Eggers (9), Bre Eng (9), Katlin Fontenot (10), Ashley Ford (9), Annette Frank (9), Lydia Gill (9), Sarah Hudon (10), Korelle Melcarek (8), Shannon Sewell (9), Lauren Stevenson (9) and Juli Sutter (9).
