Chesterton coach John Sparks is a little worried heading into tonight’s
battle atop the Duneland Athletic Conference with Lake Central at Sand Creek.
The Trojans won for the second consecutive night by posting a team score of
159, but it may not be good enough against the Indians. Chesterton swept
Boone Grove (165), Andrean (188) and Lowell (213) on Wednesday evening.
“If we’re going to beat Lake Central, they are going to have to keep getting
better,” Sparks said.
Kyle Grassel and Josh Kalita led the way with 38’s on the Marsh Course at
Sand Creek, while Ryan Grassel shot 41, Pat Herrod fired a 42 and Nick Stasil
tallied a 43.
“Kyle and Josh played great again,” Sparks said. “And the rest of them didn’t
play badly. Sand Creek is tough, even for us. The guys that aren’t scoring as
well right now just aren’t hitting enough green’s.”
