CHS Golf splits DAC trimeet

The Chesterton boys golf team split a Duneland Athletic Conference tri-meet on Wednesday at Beechwood Golf Club.

LaPorte won the meet with a 166 team score, while the Trojans fired a 167 and Merrillville carded a 215.

Evan Zondor shot a two-over-par 38 to lead CHS with Brandon Martin, Zach Von Huben and John Kelley all shooting 43. Alec Slazas rounded out the scoring with a 48.

The Chesterton junior varsity got a four-over-par 40 from Eric Richardson, but split a tri-meet at Beechwood on Wednesday.

LaPorte won the meet with a 173 team score, while the Trojans shot 180 and Merrillville fired a 259.
