CHS Girls Soccer beats Highland

The Chesterton girls soccer team opened up the offense after halftime and cruised to a 7-0 non-conference victory at Highland on Saturday.

Leading just 1-0 at halftime, CHS put six goals on the board after the break as Carley Balas and Addyson Arndt combined for the shutout in goal.

Goal scorers for the Trojans were Addy Joiner (2), Grace Bamber, Sophie DeRuntz, Ingrid Hurst, Kaitlyn Kogl and Tia Seerup.

Annalisa Hackett, Joiner, Emily Richardson, Gina Geenen and Kogl all dished out assists.

Chesterton returns to the field on Tuesday when they host Portage. The JV game is set for a 5 p.m. start.
