CHS Boys Tennis beats Wheeler 4-1

The Chesterton boys tennis team improved to 2-0 on the year with a 4-1 victory over Wheeler on Tuesday.

The Trojans picked up two singles points with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles from Dylan Jayasuriya and a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles by Zac Nabhan.

In doubles, Trey Moffett and Conner Kuhnle beat Aleksa Todovovic and Trent Foster 7-5, 7-5 at No. 1. Chris Fouts and Tom McGue also were victorious over Austin Greiner and Christian Rosta 6-4, 6-1.

Singles -- 1. Jack Hibbard (W) def. Johny Mario 6-4, 6-4; 2. Dylan Jayasuriya ® def. Dimitri Peroski 6-1, 6-2; 3. Zac Nabhan ® def. Dru Carrigan 6-1, 6-0.

Doubles -- 1. Trey Moffett/Conner Kuhnle ® def. Aleska Todovovic/Trent Foster 7-5, 7-5; 2. Chris Fouts/Tom McGue ® def. Austin Greiner/Christian Rosta 6-4, 6-1.

Record -- Chesterton 2-0.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 6, Wheeler 0

Chesterton’s James Jewison, Conner Archbald and Fred Owens all won their singles matches as the Trojan junior varsity won 6-0.

At No. 1 doubles, Alex Emmons and Ryan Harmon won 8-1, while the doubles teams of Cameron Cook/Tanner Fowler and Nate Dickinson/Colten Carter also won.
