CHS Boys Soccer wraps up Duneland Conference title

The Chesterton boys soccer team finished an unblemished regular season and Duneland Athletic Conference championship with a 7-0 victory on Senior Night against LaPorte on Wednesday.

The Trojans built a 2-0 lead at halftime and exploded for five more goals in the second half to cruise to the victory.

Goal scorers for CHS were Joshua Wadowski, Seth Conway, Zack Bowser (3), Soren Vagenius and Jordan Carlson. Assists came from Conway (2) and Vagenius.

Peter Girzadas recorded three saves in the shutout victory.

Chesterton opens up Sectional play at Valparaiso on Tuesday when they face off against Hobart at 7 p.m.

Chesterton -- Joshua Wadowski 1 goal; Seth Conway 1 goal, 2 assists; Zack Bowser 3 goals; Soren Vagenius 1 goal, 1 assist; Jordan Carlson 1 goal; Peter Girzadas 3 saves.

Record: Chesterton 14-0-2.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 9, LaPorte 0

The Chesterton junior varsity improved to 13-1 overall with a 9-0 victory over LaPorte on Wednesday.

Goal scorers for the Trojans included Joshua Wadowski, David Jugovic (2), Joshua Pearson, Tommy Oros, Carlos Cano, Ethan Schyler and Will Osafo (2).

Assists were handed out by Cano, Jugovic, Jacob Perkins, Gage Torres and Schyler, while Quintin Krygier and Ethan Boedeker combined in goal for the win.
