Senior Night is
always filled with emotion.
Wednesday night was
no different for the Chesterton boys soccer team as they picked up a
regular-season ending 4-1 Duneland Athletic Conference victory over LaPorte.
“It’s nice to pick
up the win for the seniors on an emotional night for them and their
parents,” Chesterton coach Jamie Sensibaugh said. “Those nine seniors have
dedicated so much of their time to our program and have been a big part of
the success we have had the last four years.”
scored the game’s opening goal on a penalty kick and Robbie Capehart added
another goal for a 2-0 halftime lead. Andrew VanNoort and Seth Conway added
goals in the second half.

Haire each dished out assists in the victory.
tallied five saves and Nick Harmon added two more.
“On to Sectionals,”
Sensibaugh said. “Everything up to this point has been window dressing.
Anything that matters in any sport is how you end.”
The Trojans open
post-season play on Wednesday when they play the winner of Michigan
City-Portage at Merrillville. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m.
