CHS boys shut out Merrillville in tennis

The Chesterton boys tennis team improved to 4-0 in Duneland Athletic Conference play with a 5-0 sweep at Merrillville on Monday.

In singles, Fabio Haiduc had little trouble in a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Noah Terpstra at No. 1. Drake Redman followed along at No. 2 with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Benzi Corrales.

Troy Feller finished the singles run without dropping a game in a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 3 over Matt Sanegan.

In doubles, John Powell and Brock Redman blanked Micah Rayburn and Ronald Green 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1. David Archbald and John Petro followed with a 6-0, 6-1 victory at No. 2 over Soji Odvneye and Jamar Williams.

The Trojans return to the court tonight when they travel to LaPorte to take on the Slicers beginning at 4:15 p.m.
