CHS announces Fall sports spectator and ticket guidelines

This fall, the CHS Athletic Department has made adjustments to the fan experience at extra-curricular sports events in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Based on recommendations by the IHSAA and the Porter Country Health Department, health and safety guidelines have been implemented at CHS athletic contests for student-athletes, staff and spectators.

The CHS Administration respectfully requests that all spectators attending CHS events adhere to the guidelines and provide opportunities for our student-athletes during these unprecedented times.

All Sports Passes will not be offered this fall. Each person attending a ticketed event, must have their own ticket.

Prior to any contest, fans should wash hands and assess themselves for the know signs or symptoms of COVID-19. Any fan displaying any signs or symptoms should stay home.

CHS will promotes social distancing at all events and masks are required to enter all home events. For indoor events, masks must remain on for the duration of the event. For outdoor events, masks may be removed when social distance can be maintained.

Concession stands will be available at ticketed events and ticket takers will wear masks and gloves. Fans are encouraged to have correct change.

Children 8th grade or lower must be accompanied by, and sit, with an adult for the duration of the contest. Restroom facilities will be available and game procedures will follow the directions of the IHSAA and NFHS.

Fans must exit the event after its has ended. Parents waiting for their student-athlete are asked to wait in their vehicles.

Maximum capacity for soccer will be 500 fans on the home side and 250 on the visitorís side with both being open. Restrooms and concessions will also be available on each side.

For volleyball, all bleachers will be open in the gym. A max of 250 fans will be allowed on each side of the gym. Restrooms and concessions will be available.

Cross country, tennis and golf will now have maximum capacity restrictions.

For varsity football games, 2,000 tickets will be available with 1,500 on the home side and 500 on the visitorís side. JV and 9th grade games will be 250 fans on the home side and on the visitorís side. Fans are asked to sit in an open area not marked out by tape. Seats in the bleachers have been marked in sets of four.

Ticketing for football games will be for football team members, cheerleaders and band members for home games on Monday and Tuesday. Each member is allowed to purchase four tickets and must do so in the CHS Athletic Office between 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Student tickets will be available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Students can by one ticket and may buy it in the CHS Athletic Office between 8 a.m.-3 p.m.

Senior Citizen pass holders will be given one complimentary ticket per senior citizen (gold) pass holder. Tickets must be picked up at the CHS Main Entrance on Wednesday and Thursday by presenting the golf pass. The pass must also be presented when entering the gate with the ticket.

Teachers, administrators and staff can get one complimentary ticket and can pick it up in the CHS Athletic Office by showing their pass. The ticket and pass must be presented at the gate for admission.

The General Public tickets will be available on Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at the CHS Main Entrance. Fans may purchase up to four tickets.

Any unsold tickets will be available for purchase at the gates on Friday. Check the CHS athletic website ( and CHS athletic social media outlets for announcements of ticket availability.
