Chesterton volleyball drops marathon at Portage

The Chesterton volleyball team dropped a tough five-set Duneland Athletic Conference decision 17-25, 26-24, 25-21, 18-25, 15-11 at Portage.

Offensively, Kristin Stillman led the Trojans with nine kills, while Kylie Vendramin added eight kills. Ginger Hedrick contributed seven kills in the win.

Olivia Smilgius tallied nine assists, while Maggie Vrahoretis dished out eight assists. Ella Whitmore contributed six assists.

Defensively, Stillman led the way with eight digs and Sammy Devereaux recorded six digs. Whitmore and Taylor Bowser each had four digs.

At the net, Hedrick led the charge with four blocks, while Vendramin, Ariel Rohe and Paige Seely each had three blocks.

The Trojans return to the court on Thursday when they travel to Michigan City to take on the Wolves. JV game begins at 5 p.m.
