The Chesterton girls tennis team (5-3) picked up both doubles points and won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles to beat Andrean 4-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

“This was a great team effort,” Chesterton coach Gretchen Shinn said.

Erin DeVaney was the first Trojan off the court at No. 2 singles as she blasted Elizabeth Mirabella 6-1, 6-0. Jannon Jeffries followed suit at No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Michelle Townsend.

“Erin and Jannon played well to get wins at No. 2 and 3 singles for us,” Shinn said.

In doubles, Cristi Williams and Bharathi Muthusamy beat Janyne Little and Priyanka Reddy 6-4, 6-2 at No. 1. Amanda Gore and Christine Lambert beat Erin Molon and Danielle Bolik 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2.

The Chesterton junior varsity dropped just one match, in doubles, and improved to 7-1 on the season with a 10-1 victory over Andrean.

Singles winners included Cassi Moore (No. 1), Lexi Misch (No. 2) and Tori Comegys (No. 3).

In doubles, winners were Lauren Ingram-Stacey Kammerer, Sara Torabi-Heather Ribar, Olivia Gordon-Shelbie Sullivan, Amanda Stolarz-Holly Klawson, Brittny Stephan-Tori Comegys and Cassi Moore-Lexi Misch.
