Chesterton Gymnasts open with DAC win

The Chesterton gymnastics team topped the 110 mark in their Duneland Athletic Conference opening 110.475-85.65 meet victory over LaPorte on Wednesday night.

Jordan Bush led the way for the Trojans with the All-Around title (37.025), while also picking up individual event wins in the Vault (9.55) and the Beam (9.025).

Sophie Hunzelman won the Bars (9.575) and Floor (9.325).

Chesterton returns to competition next Tuesday when they host Hobart and New Prairie beginning at 6 p.m.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 101.15, LaPorte NTS

The Chesterton junior varsity posted a 101.15 score to beat LaPorte on Wednesday night.

Individual event winners for the Trojans included Belle Marchetti on Vault (8.8), Hailee Ellenwood on Bars (8.625) and Floor (8.875) and Julia Turner on Beam (8.7).
