Chesterton Girls XC bests City falls to LC

The Chesterton girls cross country team split decisions Tuesday night at Lake Central.

The Trojans picked up a Duneland Athletic Conference victory over Michigan City (15-49), but fell to the host Indians (16-41).

Lindsey Nielsen led CHS with a fifth place finish in 21:13. Haley Cushway (7th, 21:24), Kassidy Scott (8th, 21:30) and Kaylee Slont (9th, 21:37) also finished in the top 10.

The rest of the Trojans top seven included Erin Socha (12th, 22:12), Leah Sink (13th, 22:15) and Lauren Whitlow (19th, 23:06).
