Chesterton Boys Tennis beats Portage

The Chesterton boys tennis team improved to 6-2 on the year and 3-2 in Duneland Athletic Conference play with a 4-1 win over Portage on Tuesday.

In singles, Johny Mario wasted little time at No. 1 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over John Fannin. Zac Nabhan outlasted Blake Logsdon at No. 2 7-6 (7-5), 6-4, while James Jewison beat Jesse Bustos 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3.

In doubles, Tom McGue and Chris Fouts scored the Trojansí final team point with a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Alex Tsoris and Anping Wang at No. 2.

Junior Varsity

Chesterton 8, Portage 2

The Chesterton junior varsity got singles victories from Alex Emmons, Cameron Cook and Conner Archbald in an 8-2 win over Portage.

In doubles, the combinations of Colten Carter/Ryan Harmon, Tanner Fowler/Nate Dickinson, Robert Morgia/Josh Williams, Mitch Smrekar/Nate Scheerer and Ian Johnson/Hayden Hodge all won.
