The Chesterton boys golf team finished its first undefeated season with a
victory over LaPorte and Michigan City at Beechwood Golf Course on Thursday
night.
“It’s great to close the regular season with a win over two tough teams on
our Regional course,” Chesterton coach John Sparks said.
Ryan Grassel led the Trojans with a one-over-par 37, while Josh Kalita fired
a 38.
“Ryan and Josh really got it done for us tonight,” Sparks said.
Nick Stasil (40), Kyle Grassel (40) and Pat Herrod (41) rounded out the
scoring for Chesterton. LaPorte’s Kyle Bowden took medalist honors with an
even par 36.
