The Chesterton volleyball team ran its win streak to three with a 25-19,
25-17, 25-20 victory over Michigan City on Thursday night.
Offensively, the Trojans were led by Jennifer Williams and Shelby Ruffner
with eight kills each. Ali Ostrom tallied six kills, while Katie Urycki and
Emily Nix had four kills apiece.
Ariane Mahaffey dished out a team-best 19 assists and Williams added nine
assists.
Defensively, Emily Marcus had 13 digs with Urycki adding 12. Sara Tarnowski
contributed nine digs and Williams tallied seven digs. Mahaffey recorded
five digs in the win.
At the net, Williams led the way with three block kills with Ruffner and
Ostrom adding two each.
On the service line, Ruffner had a team-best three service aces, while
Williams, Urycki and Tarnowski all had two aces.
The Trojans return to the court on Saturday when they host the nine-team CHS
Invitational beginning at 9 a.m.

The Chesterton junior varsity picked up its first Duneland Athletic
Conference win with a tough three-game 21-25, 25-17, 15-9 victory over
Michigan City.
Offensively, Samantha Stueber led the way with 12 kills, while Lia
Lombardini recorded 10 kills. Aubrey Nagdeman had nine kills with Whitney
Schreiber adding six kills.
Nagdeman dished out a team-best 17 assists with Carley Bartolini tallying 14
assists.
On the service line, Nagdeman tallied five aces and Shelby Snyder added two
aces.
Defensively, Allie Sink had 16 digs and Lombardini added 10 digs. Nagdeman
recorded nine digs with Ashley Hecimovich tallying seven digs. Bartolini and
Emily Parkerson each had four digs in the win.

The Chesterton freshman improved to 4-4 on the year with a 25-24, 25-24
victory over Michigan City on Thursday.
Olivia Sech led the offense with three kills, while Katelyn Woods and Elena
Azcona each had one kills. Woods also dished out three assists.
Kaylee Goin recorded a team-best four service aces with Sech adding two
aces.
Defensively, Azcona had a team-high 14 digs with Sech adding eight digs.
Alaina Kogler and Goin each recorded six digs with Taylor Rodriguez tallying
three digs.
