CHS Volleyball improves to 2-0 Thursday

The Chesterton volleyball team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 26-24, 20-25, 25-22, 25-21 victory over Munster in its home opener on Thursday night.

Offensively, Kristin Stillman led the Trojans with 11 kills and Ginger Hedrick added 10 kills. Ella Whitmore recorded seven kills and Paige Seely tallied six kills.

Olivia Smilgius had 16 assists and Whitmore dished out 15 helpers. Maggie Vrahoretis had seven assists.

Defensively, Stillman had a team-best 12 digs with Bowser adding 11 and Lorann Lombardini recording eight digs.

On the service line, Whitmore and Smilgius each tallied four aces. Devereaux contributed three aces in the victory.

Chesterton returns to the court on Monday night when they host Andrean. The junior varsity game is set for a 5 p.m. start.
