Former Chesterton and Purdue North Central pitcher Tom Albano was given a tryout by the Gary RailCats.

Last Monday, Albano pitched an inning of shutout ball against the RailCats striking out one in an intrasquad game.

On Friday, Albano was given another inning of work against the Rockford RiverHawks. The right-hander made quick work of the RiverHawks, pitching a perfect 1-2-3 inning, striking out one in the RailCats 6-2 win.

On Saturday morning, Albano received a call by the RailCats to travel with the team to Southern Illinois to play against the Miners. He pitched two innings of no-hit shutout ball in the sixth and seventh inning.
