The Porter County Plan Commission got together on Wednesday night to elect a
slate of officers for this year.
The planners elected County Commissioner Nancy Adams, R-Center, as their
president, nominated by Richard Maxey. Adams has served as president since
2011.
Newly appointed to the Plan Commission by his colleagues on the County
Council, Robert Poparad will assume the role of vice president. He was
nominated by another new member, Mitch Peters.
Also, Robert Thompson was retained as executive director. Scott McClure of
Rhame & Elwood LLC will continue to be the attorney for the commission and
the Board of Zoning Appeals. Planner Tim Cole was chosen again to be the
commission’s appointee on the BZA.
The Commission will meet again in February for a plaque ceremony, Adams
said.
