In the story “Tourism commission expands with Beyond the Beach initiative” printed in the June 16, 2010 edition of the Chesterton Tribune, there was an error in the coverage of the vote on the Porter County Convention, Recreation and Visitors Commission Board of Directors change in the agency’s grant policy. The vote should have been reported as 5-1.

The Tribune regrets the error.

It should be noted that that the 9-member PCCRVC board needs a board majority of five members voting in a favor of a motion in order for it to be approved.

It should also be clarified that organizations applying for a matching grant with the PCCRVC can apply up to three times for a single event, meaning organizations can still submit grant applications for a different event even if they have reached their three-year limit with another.

Members who voted in favor of the change were board president Jeff Good, Judy Chaplin, Michael Scott, Matt Murphy, and Roberta Newlin.

Voting against the motion was Mitch Peters.
