State Auditor
Suzanne Crouch visited Porter County Auditor Vicki Urbanik on Tuesday,
continuing her statewide tour to discuss financial transparency and ways the
State can better support counties.
"Communication and
collaboration are key to increasing efficiency and achieving 21st century
government," Crouch said. "As a former County Auditor, I appreciate the
vital role auditors serve in the function and fiscal health of their
counties."
Since taking
office, Auditor Crouch has visited every county auditor's office in Indiana
in an effort to increase cooperation between counties and the State and
share the importance of financial transparency at the State and local level.
"Talking with local
officials about how we can work together is essential to good government,"
said Crouch. "I appreciate the opportunity to have a conversation with
Auditor Urbanik and her staff as they serve the community well. My goal is
determining what we can do at the State level to support and empower
officials like Vicki."
Elected in 2014 as
Indiana's 56th State Auditor, Suzanne Crouch serves as the state's Chief
Financial Officer and the administrator of the Indiana Transparency Portal.
Prior to becoming State Auditor, Crouch served eight years as the State
Representative for House District 78 in Evansville. You can visit the
