
Good day for a horse ride at the Porter County Fair:
The weather was cool Wednesday,
making the ride a lot more pleasant for Dani Paliga and her horse, Jenny, as
they prepared for the Western Horse Project at the Porter County Fair. Dani,
a Chesterton Middle School student, is participating in the Horse and Pony
Project. She is a member of the Jackson Volunteers 4-H Club.

Time for a hug: Lori Uskert gives her horse Barni a big
hug for doing a good job at this year’s 4-H Fair. Together they received A
grades in Horsemanship and Showmanship. Lori, a seven year member of Liberty
Hot Shots, is in her second year in the Horse and Pony Project. She is a
student at Chesterton High School.

Horse showmanship: Heather Waldo rides her horse Mack in

Heather, a Chesterton High School freshman, is in her fourth year in the
Horse and Pony Project. She is a member of the Jackson Volunteers.

Grand Champion: Jessica Gamblin, of the Jackson
Volunteers, rides her horse Bud in a practice field prior to the
Horsemanship Project. In addition to celebrating her birthday on Tuesday,
she and Bud took Grand Champion honors in the Hunt Seat Project.
