The single bright spot for Republicans in the races in which Dunelanders
voted on Tuesday was the re-election of incumbent State Rep. Ed Soliday to
his 4th District seat in the Indiana House.
Soliday beat off a challenge by Democrat Greg Simms, taking 52 percent of
the vote to Simms’ 48 percent.
Meanwhile, Democrat incumbent Scott Pelath easily won re-election to his 9th
District seat in the Indiana House.
Pelath trounced Republican Dan Granquist, taking 70 percent of the vote to
Granquist’s 30 percent.
