Voters who wish to cast their votes absentee by mail must make sure to get
their application in by this Monday.
Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita issued a reminder that the form can be
faxed, delivered or mailed, but it must be received -- not just postmarked --
by the April 28 deadline.
To request an absentee application, call the Porter County Voter Registration
Office at 465-3484 or 465-3486.
Absentee voting in-person has begun and will continue through May 5 at noon.
Voters may vote absentee at the Voter Registration Office in the County
Administration Center from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and
from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. tomorrow and on Saturday, May 3.
Absentee voting is also ongoing at the North Porter County Government
Building in Portage from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Voters who are confined and need to have their ballot delivered by an
absentee voter board, or traveling board, need to make sure their application
is received in the County Voter Registration office by noon, May 5.
