Valparaiso Police report man approached girl at school bus stop

Valparaiso Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who approached a girl at a school bus stop.

According to police, at 7:15 a.m. a 13-year-old girl was walking to a school bus stop in the Beauty Creek subdivision when a male subject driving a white van pulled up along side her. The man attempted to initiative a conversation with the girl and asked her whether she wanted a lift, police said. The girl declined and continued walking, at which point the man left the area in an unknown direction.

The man was described as white or Hispanic, with a dark goatee.

Anybody with information about this incident is asked to call the Valparaiso Police Department at 462-2135 or text a tip through Tip411 (847-411 key word “Valpo”).

Police continue to investigate.
