Two persons were injured this morning in a two-vehicle accident on I-80/94 in Lake County, the Indiana State Police said.

According to police, at 7:16 a.m. David J. Tomlinson, 34, of Plymouth, Mich., was eastbound in the right middle lane of I-80/94, just east of Indianapolis Blvd., when another vehicle in the far right lane attempted to merge into his lane, causing Tomlinson to swerve left and strike a semi-tractor trailer in the middle left lane.

Tomlinsonís 2004 Honda CRV then rolled and came to rest in the far left lane, police said. Tomlinson sustained a hand injury, and his front-seat passenger, Brett Barath, 28, of Livonia, Mich., a head injury, police said. Both were transported to Munster Community Hospital.

The truck driver, Trevor Snyder, 33, of Canton, Mich., was not injured.

The left two lanes were closed for some time after the crash, police said.
