A South Haven man was arrested Friday on charges of child exploitation and possession of child pornography, the Indiana State Police said.

Vincent C. Hix, 48, was booked into Porter County Jail on those charges after officers with the ISP Crimes Against Children Unit executed a search warrant at his residence in the 300 block of Keystone Drive, police said.

According to police, the warrant was issued based on allegations that Hix used an Internet connection to distribute images and videos depicting child pornography.

Child exploitation is a Class C felony punishable by a term of two to eight years; possession of child pornography, a Class D felony punishable by a term of six months to three years.
