Back To Front Page

Whoever vandalized two vehicles over the weekend in the 1200 block Lake Charles Ave. left behind blood and other evidence, Porter Police are saying.

According to police, sometime between 10:30 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday someone apparently used a flashlight to break off the passenger’s side mirror from one of the vehicles and shatter the rear hatchback window on the other. Also broken on the second vehicle, police said: the left taillight and the driver’s side mirror.

An officer investigating the vandalism collected blood found on the one of the mirrors as well as the flashlight believed to have been used, which had been left in the rear seat of the second vehicle, police said. The flashlight “is black metal with a rubber grip in the middle of it and white lettering reading “POLICE/SECURITY” on it, police added.

Police estimated total damage to $1,200.
