Porter County Sheriff seeks proposals for healthcare staff at jail

Back to Front Page

The Porter County Sheriff’s Department is reissuing a Request for Proposals for inmate healthcare in the jail and also at the Juvenile Service Center.

Sheriff David Lain in a press release Thursday said there was a need to reconfigure the original RFP’s due to an assessment and recommendations by a consultant from the National Institute of Corrections which was just completed.

Providers interested in submitting proposals may download a copy of the RFP from the Department website:

Companies must be legally licensed to operate a health care business in the state of Indiana.

Submissions are due at the Porter County Auditor’s office by noon on Jan. 18, 2013. Proposals are to be opened at the Porter County Commissioners meeting on Jan. 22 and they will award a contract at their Feb. 5 meeting.

Any questions can be directed to Jail Warden John Widup or Asst. Warden Ron Gaydos at 219-477-3000.
