Little information was available today about a two-vehicle accident on
Sunday in the area of U.S. Highway 20 and Tremont Road.
The head-on crash occurred around 6:40 p.m., Porter Deputy Fire Chief Jay
Craig told the Chesterton Tribune today.
One motorist--who had to be extricated from his vehicle--appears to have
been seriously injured and may have been subsequently airlifted from Porter
Regional Hospital, Craig said. “He was banged up pretty bad.”
The other motorist was also injured, Craig said.
But the condition of neither motorist was known this morning.
The Porter County Sheriff’s Police responded to the scene but as of deadline
today the PCSP had released no information.
The Chesterton Fire Department assisted the PFD at the scene.
