PCSP: Officer who made traffic stop not an impersonator

Back To Front Page

The Porter County Sheriff’s Police told the Chesterton Tribune after deadline Wednesday that the man who pulled over a 34 year-old woman for a traffic stop at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday in the area of North Calumet Avenue and County Road 700 North is in fact an officer with the PSCP.

The woman had told police the man who pulled her over was not in uniform nor was his vehicle officially marked. PSCP spokesperson Sgt. Larry LaFlower has been able to confirm the man was an off-duty PSCP officer, that the stop was legitimate, and there is no reason for residents to be alarmed.
