A Pine Township
resident was arrested Saturday on charges of criminal recklessness and
unlawful possession of a firearm after the Porter County Sheriff’s Police
said that he fired a handgun in the direction of several people.
police, at 3:07 a.m. officers were dispatched to the residence of Bryce C.
Guenther, 26, at 3735 W. Dunes Highway, Apt. 1A, in response to a report
that he had fired approximately seven rounds at four female subjects through
an upstairs window.
On their arrival,
police said, officers made contact with “several female subjects hiding in
the ditches on both sides of U.S. Highway 12 just east of the residence.” At
that time they were advised that Guenther was still inside the apartment
with a 5-month-old infant, police said.
