A Hobart resident was injured Thursday in a three-vehicle accident on
I-80/94 in Lake County, the Indiana State Police said.
According to police, at 6 a.m. Calvin Bryant, 48, of Hobart, was westbound
in the left lane of I-80/94, a mile east of Burr Street, when he lost
control of his 1999 Ford pickup on wet pavement. The pickup left the roadway
to the left, then returned to the travel lanes and hit a semi-tractor
trailer in the middle left lane driven by David C. Flory, 49, of Paw Paw,
Mich., police said.
Flory, for his part, spun out of control and struck a second semi in the
middle right lane driven by David R. See, 56, of McHenry, Ill., police said.
Bryant, who was wearing his seatbelt, was transported to Northlake Methodist
Hospital in Gary with non-life threatening injuries to the head, police
Neither Flory nor See was injured, police said, and there was no load loss
from either semi.
Bryant’s Ford pickup was a total loss and had to be towed from the scene.
