A Demotte motorist was injured today when she lost control of her car on
I-65 and went airborne into some trees, the Indiana State Police said.
According to police, at 7:58 a.m. Bridget Birzek, 44, was northbound on I-65
when for unknown reasons she lost control of her 2008 Mazda, on a dry
stretch of road not receiving snow.
Birzek’s Mazda left the roadway, hit a ditch, and went airborne into the
trees, police said.
Birzek--who was wearing her seatbelt--was transported to Saint Anthony’s
Hospital in Crown Point with non-life threatening injuries.
The Mazda was a total loss.
