SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) The father of a 16-year-old northern Indiana girl killed 20 years ago says she was friends in middle school with the man now charged with her death.

Ben Rison told The Associated Press on Friday that he didn't want to say much more about Jason Tibbs because he wasn't sure what authorities would want him to reveal.

Rayna Rison went missing in March 1993, after locking up at an animal hospital where she worked in LaPorte, about 25 miles west of South Bend. Her body was found in a pond a month later.

Police said any more information would come from the LaPorte County prosecutor's office. The AP left a message seeking comment from prosecutors.

Tibbs is jailed without bond. Court records don't list an attorney for the LaPorte resident.
