CPD no longer processing fingerprints for state handgun permit applications

Back To Front Page

Beginning Monday, March 24, the Chesterton Police Department will no longer process fingerprints for residents applying for state handgun permits.

To complete the fingerprint portion of the application, a person must schedule an appointment on line--no walk-ins--with L-1 Identity Solutions, also known as Morpho Trust/IdentoGO, to have fingerprints taken electronically for the Indiana State Police.

There is a charge of $9.95 and the company will also collect an applicant’s state application fee.

When completing the handgun permit application on line, click the link which appears when you obtain your application number or go to.

The CPD will continue to process fingerprints for requests other than handgun permit applications at the station, 790 Broadway.
