Valparaiso Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the man who exited his vehicle to chase a 12-year-old girl on Saturday.

According to police, at 6:21 p.m. the girl reported that she was in the area of Elm Street and Greenwich Street when a man driving a white conversion van passed her, then returned, exited the van, and began to chase her while yelling profanities.

“The girl was chased for approximately one block before the male subject returned to his vehicle and left the area westbound on Oak Street,” police said.

The man was described as a white male in his middle forties, around 5’ 10’’ in height, wearing a white tee-shirt and baseball cap. His vehicle was described as a white conversion van with an empty rack on the roof and two stick-family decals: a person and a dog.
