appear to have been committed in the morning, sometime after 8 a.m. The
first burglary was discovered at 12 p.m., the other two later in the day.
Two of the homes
were forcibly entered, one through a kicked-in door, the other through a
rear door whose screen was cut. The third residence appears to have been
entered through an unsecured sliding door.
Stolen from one
residence: a Remington 870 shotgun and two bolt-action .22 caliber rifles,
with a total value of $1,500.
another: a Magnavox 42-inch television, a Sony Vaio 15-inch laptop computer,
and $200 in loose change, with a total value of $1,700.
Stolen from the
third: several pieces of jewelry whose value has not yet been determined.
At one of the
scenes a witness did see, at mid-morning, a strange vehicle parked in the
driveway. It was described as a silver passenger car, possibly a Buick
LeSabre or similar model, driven by a white male in his twenties with
“whitish” blond hair. The witness added that the suspect vehicle has a “very
loud exhaust system.”
