Avoid the 'one-ring' scam from Caribbean

Back To Front Page

The Indiana Attorney Generalís Office is warning consumers about the so-called ďone ringĒ scam.

It works this way.

You cell phone rings. Once. You check the number and find that it originates somewhere in the Caribbean, Antigua letís say. You return the call.

And youíre charged a fee on your cell phone.

If you donít recognize the area code--Antigua, for example, is 268--best to check it out before you make a return call, the Indiana Attorney Generalís Office says.
