Armed man invades home in Valparaiso

Valparaiso Police are seeking the publicís help after an armed man invaded a home in the 2200 block of Walker Drive on Friday.

According to police, at 6:10 a.m. officers responded to the residence after homeowners reported that--about two hours earlier--a masked man had entered the home through an open garage door, confined them to a room, and then searched the residence for valuables.

The suspect subsequently fled with an unknown amount of money and jewelry.

The suspect was described as a white male, under six feet in height, wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and black work boots. His face was covered and he displayed a handgun, police said.

Anyone who observed any suspicious activity between 4 and 6:15 a.m. Friday in the 2200 block of Walker Drive is asked to call the VPD at 462-2135.
