No one was harmed Monday in the armed robbery of the Dollar Inn at 6142 U.S.
Highway 20, Portage Police said.
According to police, around 8 a.m. a male subject entered the motel office,
displayed a handgun, and demanded money. He secured an undetermined amount
of cash and fled the scene without hurting anyone, Sgt. Keith Hughes told
the Chesterton Tribune today.
It is unknown whether the robber escaped on foot or in a vehicle, Hughes
added, but officers dispatched to the area were unable to locate him.
He was described as a black male.
The investigation is continuing.
