Service set for Dolores Zilius

Chesterton resident Dolores Zilius passed away on Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at Porter Hospital Valparaiso Campus. She was 72.

Born on Sept. 1, 1937 in Chicago, she was the daughter of Chester and Bertha (Fabiszak) Kostro. On Sept. 4, 1976 in Lansing, Ill., she married Dennis Zilius, who survives in Chesterton.

Also surviving are son John Gildein (wife Patricia) of Kouts; daughter Janet Tracy (husband Jim) of Chesterton; brother Stanley Kostro (Diane) of Tomahawk, Wisc.; sister Sandy Komosa of Hobart; grandchildren John Gildein (Cindy), Kevin Tracy, Michael Gildein (Anna), Erin Tracy and Renee Gildein; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Dolores was a homemaker and had worked for Lamb’s Farm in Libertyville, Ill., as a direct living assistant. She enjoyed spending time with her family.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2009 at 6 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Cremation will be in Heritage Crematory in Portage. A visitation will be on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. www.ee-fh.com
