Fred Kermit Lucas dies at 75

Fred Kermit Lucas, 75 of Valparaiso, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009.

He was born May 12, 1933 in Charleston, West Virginia, the son of Claude and Mabel (Kinder) Lucas.

On October 18, 1952, he married Beverly Ann White, who survives.

He is also survived by sons, Mike (Kathy), Pat (Jeanne) and Mark (Rancie) all of Chesterton; a daughter, Linda (John) Bottos, of Valparaiso; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and one on the way. Also surviving is his sister, Geneva McCormick of Cleveland, Ohio and his brothers, Robert Lucas of Sunrise, Fla., Harry Lucas of Charleston, W.V., Franklin Lucas of Columbus, Ohio and Jerry Lucas of Port Richey, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Claude, Jr., Ralph and Roy and sisters Peggy Lee and Theda Mae.

Fred worked for Good Year Tire Off-Road Service and was a Mobile Home Park Manager and owner of Crown Mobile Home Repair Service. He was Liberty Twp. Recreation Baseball League President for 5 years.

Funeral services, Pastor G. Thomas Jones officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 16, at Bartholomew Funeral Home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Valparaiso.
