Eleanor Lindquist dies at 86

Eleanor M. Lindquist, of Chesterton, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009 at Whispering Pines Health Care Center, Valparaiso. She was 86.

She was born December 24, 1922 in Gary, the daughter of Walter and Helen (Johnson) Chellberg, both of whom preceded her in death.

She is survived by three children, Bill (Joyce) Nicholson, of Portage, Kathy (Larry) Cagle, of Kouts and Sandy (Bill) Joll, of Hebron; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Rev. Walter M. (Mary Margaret) Chellberg of Lafayette, and Paul Chellberg, of Valparaiso.

Eleanor was a Chesterton High School graduate. She was a lifelong active member of Augsburg EV Church in Porter. She was a retired secretary from Bethlehem Steel Co. Her hobbies included music and playing both the organ and piano.

Funeral services, Pastor Erik Bernth officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 23 at Augsburg EV Lutheran Church, 100 N. Mineral Springs Road. Interment will follow at Chesterton Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 22 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton.
