Leona H. Myers, former teacher, passes away at age 90

Leona H. Myers, 90, of Maple Valley, WA, passed away on Dec. 15, 2020, with her husband Ted L. Myers by her side.

Leona was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Greeley, Colorado. She, her brother and her three sisters grew up living the farm life near Greeley.

In 1951 and 1955 she earned B.A. and M.A. degrees in education. In 1951 Leona began teaching in Carlsbad, NM, where she met and married Ted Myers in 1955. Most of her 40-year teaching career was spent teaching 1st & 2nd grades at Thomas and Bailly Elementary Schools in Chesterton, IN, from 1961-1991, when she retired. While living in Chesterton, the family attended Liberty Bible Church.

Leona is survived by Ted Myers and daughter, Kathy Myers (Jeff Mergenthal) of Maple Valley, WA, and son, Terry Myers of Eagar, AZ.
