Elsie (Wesche) Scheetz passes away at age 92

Elsie (Wesche) Scheetz, age 92, of Chesterton, IN, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020, at home with her family.

She was born on September 9, 1928, in Valparaiso, IN, to Gustav and Alwine (Dannehl) Wesche.

Elsie is survived by her children, Dan (wife, Heather) Scheetz, Timothy (Scheetz) Bransche (husband, Peter), Julie (husband, Herbert) Dengler; foster son, Gary Balser; grandchildren, Danica, David, Eric, Christina, Rick, Gary and Dieter and many great/great-great grandchildren; nieces, Bonni Rice, Del Hurst; special friends, Pat Mason, Linda Hampton and Bertha Page; as well as many other much loved family and friends; and all of her furry friends including Evie, Cookie and Coco.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gustav and Alwine Wesche; husband, Julius Scheetz; and sister, Irma Bauer.

Elsie worked for many years as a teller for Centier Bank. She was a member of St. Johnís United Church, in Chesterton, and the Duneland Seniors Club.

Private family services will be held with burial at Chesterton Cemetery. Plans for a Memorial Gathering will be announced at a later date when COVID restrictions are lifted.

Memorials for Elsie may be made to the VNA Hospice Center or St. Johnís United Church.

Arrangements are in the care of Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home in Chesterton.
