Charles Edward 'Charlie' Jokerst passes away at age 78

Charles Edward “Charlie” Jokerst, age 78 of Chesterton, IN passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020.

He was born on February 6, 1942, in Ste. Genevieve, MO, to Russell and Lorene (Gegg) Jokerst, who preceded him in death.

Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Audrey (Zbur) Jokerst; three sons, Doug (Jodie) Jokerst, Jeff Maule, Christopher Maule; four daughters, Joan (John) Wickstrom, Kelly (Todd) Muzzarelli, Carey (Edwin) Schmidt, Haley Jokerst; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Robert (Patty) Jokerst; sisters, Patricia Hedgecoth, Carol (Pete) Papin, Betty (Larry) De Russe; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Charlie was the Plant Manager for Marblehead Lime in Thornton, IL, for many years. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran and a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening and was very proud of his family.

Charlie's family will be planning a Celebration of his Life to be held in the coming months.
