Services Sunday for Edrie Dean Hunt, 94

Edrie Dean Hunt, age 94 of Chesterton, passed away on January 10, 2018, at Chesterton Manor.

She was born on January 27, 1923 in Paulton, IL, to Ralph and Irenabelle Pulley, both of whom preceded her in death.

On December 24, 1946 in Clay City, IL, she married A. Cassie Hunt, who preceded her in death in 1967.

Edrie is survived by her children: Beverly Gadd of Sebring, FL, Casey (Arlene Gawrys) Hunt of Valparaiso, IN, Richard (Debbie) Hunt of Valparaiso, IN, Don (Candy) Hunt of Michigan City, IN, Pam (Art) White of Valparaiso, IN, Barry (Erin) Hunt of Portland, OR, Randy (Debbie) Hunt of Chesterton, IN, and Barb (Mike) Kotys of Valparaiso, IN; her sixteen grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and by her many nieces and nephews.

She is also preceded in death by baby Hunt in 1960, her eight siblings, her great-grandson, Brandon Hunt, and by her son-in-law, Grover (Buggs) Gadd.

Edrie was a member of the First Christian Church. She was a beautiful seamstress and was a member of the Royal Neighbors. She was a self-taught musician and loved playing the piano and organ for her church for many years. “All I ever wanted was a family. I have the best one anyone could ever have. I love them all.”

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at 1 p.m., at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd Street, Chesterton.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11 a.m. until time of service, at the funeral home.
